ACR Group Launches Automated Aviation Weather Service

ACR Group Launches Automated Aviation Weather Service to Support Critical Flight Operations at Säve Airport

ACR Group is proud to announce the launch of a new service offering Automatic aviation weather services as a stand-alone solution. Traditionally, aviation weather services have been delivered in combination with Air Traffic Services. However, starting from the beginning of this year, ACR has taken responsibility for providing aviation weather services through automated weather observations at Säve Airport.

This service is in high demand among critical societal operations such as Search and Rescue, Ambulance flights, and Police aviation, as it forms the basis for issuing Terminal Area Forecasts (TAF)—a prerequisite for these operations to function safely even in adverse weather conditions.

Jonna Westberg, Airport Manager at Säve Airport, comments:

“We appreciate ACR’s flexibility in developing and delivering this service as a stand-alone solution.”

Recent regulatory changes have enabled the issuance of TAFs based on automated observations, opening new opportunities in the market. Carl Hansson, Project manager for the implementation, sees strong potential for this service:

“Our goal is to be customer-oriented, and we are very pleased to deliver exactly the service that Säve Airport requested. At the same time, we are adding a new product and broadening our portfolio.”
